Summer Flute Practicing Ideas

Summer flute practicing is one of those things that can either be forgotten about or be one of the greatest things that happened all year.

So in this article I am going to share some summer flute practicing ideas with all of you to help it become one of the best things that will happen to you all year.

What keeps you from summer practicing?

Let’s take a minute first to recognize the things that hinder or make it difficult for us to practice in the Summertime.

I know for me, the Summer is a time when I want to be outdoors exploring and enjoying the beautiful world around me. My boys are usually home and out of school so we can spend time together traveling or just being out in nature.

These summer weeks/months are oftentimes the BEST time of the year to get some quality learning done. We get to put other things aside and just savor certain skills.

What keeps you from summer practicing?

Now that we have those out of they way let’s talk about what you can do to make that Summer practicing happen.

  1. Create a Schedule or Routine

This is probably the most common advice you will receive on flute practicing, but it really works once you make it a habit. Maybe flute practice becomes the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? Or maybe right before bed is the best time for you.

Each person is individual in their life schedule and preferences. So find what works for you. Experiment which time is best by trying a new time each week. Whichever time allows you the most productivity and ability to commit, choose that one.

      2. Take Your Flute Everywhere with YouSummer Flute Practicing Ideas

This tip is for those of you who do all your traveling in the Summertime. Take your flute with you so you can play it wherever you are. This is especially fun when you get to share your talent with those around you.

Remember to keep your flute safe while you are traveling though. For more on how to keep your flute safe while traveling click here to access an article I wrote all about it: https://learnfluteonline.com/nervous-traveler/

      3. Allow Time for Fun

I mean flute playing is fun too, but making sure that you allow yourself some time to relax in the sun, read a book, or do whatever your favorite thing is will clear your brain and make your to-do list easy to accomplish.

Now you’re all ready for summer to start so you can make your summer practicing one of the very best things that happened all year, right?
