  1. Hey Anne-Marie, thank you for posting these. I LOVE that you are actively focusing and working on following the steps and exercises here. You are improving so well!!! My goodness you have nice hand position. 🙂 Warms my heart. Keep it up for sure. You’re following along perfectly. ~Rebecca

  2. Hi Jo, sounds like we need an exercise where we practice sliding that thumb back and forth. I agree that it is awkward at first, but I have so many students who get so good at it that they forget how to use the traditional fingering (that’s a problem). So… keep at it. You can do it! Great comment. ~Rebecca

  3. My problem is using the round B key on the back of the flute. I feel like my whole hand shifts and I need to figure out all over again where the keys are. I also have to remember to breathe so I can do the entire run of 16th notes.

  4. Brian, I found the mp3 of the Broken Record and added it to this page as a download. Also, I recorded the “Where’s the Hangup in Eb” as an mp3 to practice with. Thanks for pointing that out. Have fun!

  5. Hi, Rebecca. In Module 47-1, you mention a few times that there is a MP3 accompaniment, but that doesn’t appear on the page. Could you re-upload? Thank you!

    -Brian-

  6. Rebecca,
This “simple little” exercise proved quite challenging! I got it though ! I just want to tell you again, how amazed I am by my progress ! I’ve done everything you have said to do and it REALLY WORKS !!! I always go back to the beginning and play everything we’ve learned and repeat the scales many, many times. It’s so funny to see the things I struggled with in the beginning are no problem now. I guess practice makes perfect….or at least, a whole lot better!
I will be ordering the Hymn package on Wednesday….can’t wait to start that.
I’m so glad I found you….playing my flute again has brought me such pleasure and joy !!

  7. Hoi, I just found out that giving the video a I minute to load will solve the problem. This lesson is a real challenge. I’ll sink my teeth in it.

  8. Hi, so far the lessons are fine. From some modules ago I have a problem to load the video’s where you show the fingering. The audio is broken up (stuttering). Is it a problem of my computer? All other audio and video programs work fine. Please comment. Donalfonso

  9. Paulette, I totally get what you’re saying. The good thing is that after you’ve been playing with my method for a while your brain starts to “anticipate” the pitch and the fingering just before you get there. It’s pretty cool!

  10. For me my little finger on my left hand wants to go down as my mind thinks lower note, more fingers but it is just the opposite to get through your head in this case. This is total retraining of the brain I think more so than the fingers.
