Total Time: 13 Minutes 56 Seconds

Just when you thought you had escaped the “Farmer”.

mwahahahahaha!

This will let you know how you’re doing with all of those fingerings. (especially the Ab and Eb)

*The finger combinations here look easy, but I bet you have a challenge or two to work through.

Check Boxes When Complete

[wlchecklist name=”GoldModule59Checklist”]

Basically, I needed to separate those who had all of the skills thus-far with those who didn’t.  It will make it easier for me to make sure the students who enter my online studio are able to easily access the correct lessons.  Don’t worry – when you get to the last module shown here, I’ll show you where to get more.  🙂

Upward and Onward!

 Rebecca Fuller

I’m testing this feature out this week- when you are able to play this piece WITH the accompaniment, I’d like to hear your performance.  I’ll be sharing these on this page, so do your best.  🙂

  1. You’re right, Anne-Marie it’s fun to play faster- especially if you can do it with the ‘hard thinker’ turned off. Yes, repetition is the key! You are most definitely getting faster- yes yes! You’re still sounding relaxed and proficient. Good job! Thanks for showing us. 🙂 ~Rebecca

  2. Anne-Marie Fryer

Hi Rebecca, I am getting better at going faster, don’t you think? Lots to work on still, but I think I have to erase the thought that I don’t like fast music. It is actually fun to play even though I make mistakes. It is fun because to play fast I can’t think…. and I have had to practice the piece over and over. I am super focused yes, but I can’t get the thinking in the way. Anyway here is my Happy Farmer. https://youtu.be/r_108RJAr7w
You are just such a great teacher! No one like you!

  3. RebeccaFuller

Haha! The Happy Farmer has been strategically placed for your optimal learning. Good luck! Sounds like you’re doing great. 🙂 ~Rebecca

  4. sonali Ranaweera

boy! did I struggle with this one again!!.. Thought I was done with it, Somehow the happy farmer doesn’t really get into my bones!! Unlike any of the other numbers. I just had to fight it and keep thinking of the “German Dance” as motivation 🙂

Hi Angela, I”m glad you braved the farmer! Thanks for the video. You are fast becoming everyone’s hero as well. I know for a fact that Brian and Elaine work on it and try hard to pay attention to every little detail… and it shows! Good job to you. I actually really like this one. 🙂 Rebecca

  6. https://youtu.be/eEP2Wl-S00g I can’t believe I am so near the end! I don’t eve know how many times I’ve practiced this and I don’t know if I will get it smoother at this point, so I think I will move on. Don’t know which is better this one or the Bb one. You know my idol here is Brian. He sounds great all the time, oh and I really enjoy Elaine. Hope she doesn’t mind, but I love hearing how everyone sounds. Off to 60.

  7. Thank you so much for the critique. The thumb a bit further back will also help me to curve my fingers more–something that I have to constantly remind myself about. So many things to remember. *sigh* After following your advise about raising my chin, face and eyes–yes, I noticed more resonance in tone. But I also noticed that the pitch improved too. Ha! Imagine that. You’re the best.

    Brian

  8. Hey Brian, I actually really like this Happy Farmer in Eb. You sound so great! I notice you have your stand right up in front of your face so you can stay straight. Perfect! Tone is clear and you’re on tune. You can pull your right hand thumb back a bit farther on the bottom-back of the barrel. That will give your right hand a bit more ‘freedom’ and keep it from getting tight. You have no idea how proud I am of you. My buttons are bursting! ~Rebecca

  9. Hi, Rebecca.

This is Happy Farmer in Eb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cio3m_nnvvg

Please let me know what you think. My goal is to complete the last module, Module 60, before the end of the year and then begin the Intermediate Level by January 1st. I can do it!

Merry Christmas. I’ll await your critique.

    Brian

Well, I guess that counts. Does she take them at your house or what? How do your sons feel about her? Or any other stranger?
How many sons do you have? Do you have a daughter? I’ve seen two of your sons. Kort and the other one I don’t know his name. Besides its none of my business.

    Just wondering. Bye!

  11. Naphtalie, Donna is one of my online students who takes regular private lessons so she can be really good in her church orchestra. I love her questions, and I pass the info on to you. 🙂 Rebecca

  12. Naphtalie Munozvilla

I know that. It just said in my comment “Donna reminded me of this in one of our “PRIVATE LESSONS” last week…..etc.

What I mean of “who is Donna?” Is, is she related to you? Does she live close? Is she a neighbor?

    WELL?

    Naphtalie

  13. Naphtalie Munozvilla

p.s who is Donna? i am reading the e-mails that you sent me and it says:

Donna reminded me of this during one of our private lessons last week. She said, “I have finally realized that if I can’t play my scales then I can’t ever get it right in the song. I guess that’s the bottom line.”

what is that supposed to mean?!?!?!
if you tell me who she is, i can understand perfectly.

    sincerely naphtalie

  14. Naphtalie Munozvilla

HaHaha very funny. I know deep down inside you have the troubles!(difficulties in the happy farmer)
so dont try to sweety pie me cuz i can see right through you!
this aint no game missy rebecca its a war! ya hear me?
i betcha ya do! he aint no sweet farmer he`s a criminal for making poor people and children study so much!
    LOL!

    just kidding!

    sincerely naphtalie

  15. Naphtalie Munozvilla

Kathy’s right I did struggle a lot in the happy farmer… The only reason I wrote a lot of good things is because it was a new song
I was exited! Not any more he’s back! And he has more weapons then ever! More scales and more notes and more difficulties!
Arg! The happy farmer is stronger and mightier and tougher! Arg! The tragedy! Ptyoooooooon! (He shot me with a note gun)
Ahhhh! He’s teaching me more stuff! The pain! Thump! I think I’m dying of knowledge. Uhhhh. OK I’m good now. Uh I mean
    Ahhhhh! Help help!

This movie is directed by: miss naphtalie Esmeralda munozvilla andino.

    Sincerely naphtalie

Baha! Kathy, you make me laugh. It’s true that these fingerings need to be learned so that everything else can be super easy. Keep it up, you’ll come to love the farmer… someday. 🙂 ~ Rebecca

  17. Kathy Campbell

    Rebecca,
AAARRGGGHHH !!!!!!! The Happy Farmer in Bflat nearly drove me crazy !!! And NOW you bring him back …….LOL……..really, I struggled with those fingerings….I don’t know why I found them so difficult ( the E,C,F,E D,B,F,D ) took me forever and I still stumble abit…..ok…I know what the answer is….practice, practice and more practice !

    Kathy

PS the reason “adults” are so impatient is we don’t have as much time left !

  18. Well – this is fun – bring this back — more challenges, more fun. sunny Florida day. Looking forward to perfecting the German Dance in the next module.

  19. Anne – It looks like it’s at 100. Yup – this Hymn course has turned out to be beautiful! I can’t wait to show it to you.. finishing up loose ends this week. See you in the next module! 🙂

  20. Hi Rebecca,
