  1. Hi Shir, nice recording here. Your timing with the music and the accompaniment is really good lately. Good job! Listen for some of those notes that tend to droop a bit flat (Bb especially in this piece)- you can bring it up in pitch by keeping the air flow a bit faster and chinning ‘up’ a little. This is a nice one. You can listen to a lot of symphonies play this one. It’s pretty! ~Rebecca

  2. Hi Rebecca,
    this is my link:

and I have a question, when I repeat the modules I notice that in module 36 in the sheet music there are notes that they have the number 3 under them, in the videos I didn’t found explanation for that mark… can you please explain me what is this mark mean?

  3. I like it, Anne-Marie! Thanks for posting. You’re doing such a great job. I also love that you ended your comment with “I am so inspired” – it inspires me to hear it. Thanks – see you again soon. ~Rebecca

Hello Rebecca, The String Serenade was hard. What I really enjoy is that I can see and hear where I can improve. I can hear when the note doesn’t begin nice and crisp or when the tone is flat instead of big an warm. I see my hand position drop etc. It is just so much to ‘think about’ when I try not to think as I play. Your lessons are fabulous.
    I am so inspired, Anne-Marie

  5. Hey Jo, I’ll re-upload that video again tonight. Hopefully it ‘fixes’. Sometimes our fingers seem to have a mind of their own, it’s true. The way I’ve learned to talk to my ‘mis-behaving fingers’ is to spell it out plainly and v-e-r-y- slowwwwly… over and over and over. There seems to be a point where all of the sudden I can do it no problem. Try that. I think it’ll work for you. Good job! ~Rebecca

  6. Hi Rebecca,
I’m having the same problem as Chris, that I can’t expand to full screen.
My other problem is on measures 29 and 30. I know that it goes Eb – D – D – Eb, but my fingers want to play in reverse: D – Eb- Eb – D. I’m trying as hard as I can to play correctly. Is there a trick to this that you know of or is it just keep on keeping on?

  7. Hi Chris, I’ll check on this video and see if there’s a fix. (sorry about saying the wrong module number.. my bad) The high E is unhappy for many people. Make sure your flute is level instead of tipped in towards your face. This will make all the difference for you. And yes, you are really getting there! Impressive!!!! Good job. I’m so proud of you. ~Rebecca

  8. Hi Rebecca, just a comment about Video 3 which I could not expand to full screen due to the Close button being over the full screen button. Also in the sheet music on screen some of the ledger? lines are missing, instead of five there is only three.
In module 51 you verbally call it module 50. Apart from the above all is going well and I am happy with my progress and enjoying my flute playing ‘most’ of the time. The high E still is inconsistent. Can’t believe I am nearly ‘not a beginner’

  9. I figured out the issue. The privacy settings have been changed on these videos, and should be available to you now. Thanks for your patience! ~Rebecca

  13. Hi Rebecca,

For some reason, this module won’t let me play the videos either. Message comes up as ‘Sorry
Because of its privacy settings, this video cannot be played here.’

I tried signing out and logging in again but issue is still the same. All the other modules are fine.

  14. – trying to figure out why the settings are not allowing you to watch – stay tuned

  15. sarah may-rose

Hi Rebecca for some reason all the videos on this bonus module 55 will not let me play them i have no problems with any others ty xx

  16. Anthony Brincat

Hi Rebecca, So I’ve tried on six different computers from ipads, pc’s and chromebooks and it is just the three video’s in bonus module 55 that won’t display. Anyway, I can still print out the lessons and figure out what I’m supposed to practice. If it’s just my account, I wouldn’t worry about it.

  17. RebeccaFuller

Hmmm. I see another student with a message about these videos. I’ll check into them more. They play fine for me, so I’ll try on another computer and see what happens. If this continues, please email me: thanks!

  18. Anthony Brincat

Hi Rebecca, On bonus module 55 I get a message “Sorry because of privacy settings this video cannot be played” on a black background. This is the only module doing this.

  19. sonali Ranaweera

Hi Rebecca! I can’t seem to access any these videos due to it’s privacy settings. Can you check it please and let me know
    Thank you so much.

  20. Hi Brian, I love this one! It’s such a pretty melody anyway, and you perform it well here. I’d like to see your head, face and eyes ‘up’ more if possible. I know you are a performer, so get with your bathroom mirror and see if you can play it for yourself. It’ll show you a lot about your playing and enhance your skills even more. Bravooo! Rebecca

  21. Naphtalie, it is fine – you can print what you need of the module. I’m glad you are learning so well. 🙂 Rebecca

  22. Naphtalie Munozvilla

This n is not working at all! Clumsy fingers! Arg!so embarrassing! Goodbye! Rebecca!

  23. Naphtalie Munozvilla

P.s the song:variations on a little but is hard! That is a lot of b flats!

    LOL! Bye!

  24. Naphtalie Munozvilla

Thank you for responding my comments Rebecca!
Here’s a secret, I don’t always print out your practice copy’s, but that’s only because it costs alot for ink!
But I always print out the songs! So I got an excuse! LOL!
I hope you understand me,for what I mean
We are seven kids I am the third child and we are all home schooled so it is pretty difficult but we manage to get through!

    sincerely naphtalie

  25. Hey Naphtalie, one thing I have learned is that progression in music never ends. There is always more to learn because it’s sooooo awesome. I’m so glad you are learning. Looks like I’ll be seeing you soon in the Intermediate Level. 🙂 ~Rebecca

  26. Naphtalie Munozvilla

The string serenade is absolutely awesome!
It is a gentle beautiful song that everyone can enjoy.
And I love it so coooooooooool! LOL
(I’ve noticed that I say lol a lot oh well to bad for me!)
Even though I am almost done with all of the modules I still feel like a beginner. That’s weird when I was barely starting, I felt like I was almost done!
Weird! No? Oh well! Anyway thank you for helping me in my flute.

    Really appreciate it!

  27. I’m glad you’re still working on it, Elaine. Progress continues for a long time. You can always keep working on smoothness and the skipping rhythm to make it even better. Go back and see that skipping rhythm work in modules 45 (#1) and 46. Good job, and thanks for posting. 🙂 -Rebecca

  28. Hi Rebecca,
I have been using this module as part of my warm up and I just cannot find the first module. I have tired to keep my music organized I have my music on one folder and I have the scales and warm up in another folder. I have them dated. Do you remember what module belongs to the first part of this pretty song. I would like to review it since it has been some time since I was at the first part of this module. Or if anybody else remembers let me know! We are so lucky to have thee amazing bonus modules!

  29. So glad you understand. Preventative Care is the total way to go with your instrument for sure.

  30. Hi Elaine, you’re such a trooper. I’m proud of you for doing something to better yourself -and especially since you are having a physical trial right now as well. I will get with you on the email about the skype lesson. Some do, some don’t. It’s okay. I’m here for you all when you need me. Glad you’re checking out those mini-courses. The next one to come out is the “Note-reading crash-course”, and very soon afterwards is “Hymns for Flute”. I’ll be checking your video out here in just a few minutes. 🙂 Thanks for the posts. You’re great!

  31. Hi Rebecca,

How often do your students do the Skype lessons? I don’t even know how to do that. I would have to ask my son. I know I told you I had major surgery on my neck in July 2013. I am just now weaning off my cervical collar. I continued to play 6 weeks after surgery. I was thinking of taking a Skype lesson to make sure I am not playing with bad technique. How long is the lesson and I think you said it is $30 per half hour?
I posted a video on Module 25. You can look at it and see what needs to be corrected via Skype?
I took your mini course Vibrato and plan on taking mini courses as they become available!

  32. Hi Rebecca,
Thanks for your opinion. I take very good care of my flute. Plus, I believe in preventive care. I am an RN.
I am really learning a lot by reviewing. I sound so much better. I can play at performance level. Also, everything is making more sense to me. I will continue to review until new modules come out. We have really have done so since Module 1.
    Thank you,

  33. Hey Elaine, this is a pretty good question. And yes, I think you can find varying opinions for sure. I personally do not take my flute to a technician unless I feel it is playing sup-par – BUT I do take extremely good care of it. I don’t leave it out overnight and I always clean the inside and out after playing. That’s my opinion. I feel preventative care is the best care.

  34. Hi Rebecca,
I have read different opinions on flute maintenance. I read if the flute is not broken it does not need to be taken in. Others say it should be brought in at least once per year for a cleaning and oiling. What do you recommend? I want to take god care of my flute. I am learning so much reviewing! I always look forward to the next module.

  35. So glad I gave you something to think about Elaine – now, on to the next module. 🙂

  36. Ok. I have fixed it Marcy. I think this module will go down in history as the biggest trouble-maker (technically speaking). Thanks again for the heads up. Next module is cueing up…

  37. Rebecca, It looks like Video #2 was posted twice…once as Video 1 and again as Video 2. Could you repost Video 1?

  38. Hi Rebecca,
Great Bonus Module. I will always look forward for more. In the mean time I am reviewing. I have been home after surgery for 12 weeks so I have had the extra time. I go back to work next week. With your great learning Modules I was never bored. Thank you for all that you do. I will always be your student as long as you teach online!
    Have a great day,

  39. Hi Rebecca,
Thank you for the quick response! I will be looking forward to this module!
    Keep up the great work!

  40. Hi Elaine, goodness this module gave me all sorts of technical difficulties. I went in and re-did the links. They are good to go now. Thanks for the warning. 🙂

  41. Hi,
Thanks for the hard work. For some reason when I click on the PDF I am getting the tone series 1-5 and the 55 chromatic from the bottom? I already have those. I cannot get to the PDF String Serenade?
    What should I do?
Thank you from a very dedicated student,
