I receive many emails every week from the most wonderful people. This post will give an answer to a 63 year old online flute student about how my online studio works. Seriously. It’s true. Flute learners are the best!
This week I received more than one email like this:
“Dear Rebecca, I have been looking into the possibility of learning to play the flute. I am 63 years old, and have always loved the sound of the flute.
I am 63 years old, and have always loved the sound of the flute.
Yes, it must be a brain storm that has come over me with age, but so be it. At the moment, it is very early stages, but today, I have called in the local music shop, and found that they hire flutes at a monthly rate, and this gives a chance to find out whether a student is capable of playing an instrument, which for me is ideal.
I wanted to find out if I started these online lessons, does it mean I have to move on straight away, or will the lessons be available to me whenever I am ready to start, in other words, will I lose the lessons after a certain time? Thankyou….(name removed for privacy)
Here is part of my answer to her and others with the same type of question:
“Thanks for the email. You’ve asked some really great questions here. In fact, I get asked these same questions often. The great things is that a large portion of my online students are above the age of 50 (up to about 86!). You can do it, I know you can!
